Here is another victim of the night roamers. The unfortunate student in License III, private law course was murdered by an unknown motorcycle driver who brought her back home around midnight after a night trip is not an isolated case.

The scene took place in front of the door of “Jet set” mini-city located behind the Catholic university chaplaincy of Ngaoundere of which she occupies a room. According to the testimonies of some of her neighbors who were alerted by the guardian of the city, his executioner tried to snatch her wallet. Following the resistance she showed, the latter stabbed her on the head and escape while the victim’s cries alerted the neighbors. In his flight, the malefactor abandoned his engine on the spot. The alerted neighbors could do nothing to save the poor girl who was bathing in a pool of blood.

Many point the finger at the pace of life of students who deviate more and more. The proliferation of Snack Bar, cabaret and obscure practices are at the origin of the surge of crimes.

“This is the second crime of this academic year alone, without counting the hundreds of attacks towards citizens in this university village. Dang scares” worries a new comer student of the Faculty of Economics.

It must be said that students have increasingly the unfortunate imprudence of walking late in the night, thus becoming easy prey for aggressors and rapists. Moreover, urban development in the university village and poor public lighting are likely to encourage repetitive acts of aggression. The anarchic construction makes it difficult to intervene and the failure to comply with the administrative instructions for lighting the storefronts of the cities accentuate this situation in Dang.

The police commissioner and his police officers as well as those of the Dang office immediately went to the scene to inquire about the situation. The body of the deceased is currently deposited in the mortuary of the regional hospital of Ngaoundere. The machine, abandoned on the scene of the crime and non-registered, was recovered by the elements of the police of Dang for investigation.

This murder once again brings to the table the problem of insecurity in the student village of Dang, especially on the eve of the Ramadan fasting period, when some lesser-minded supporters have made of theft and aggression their source of income. The judicial police division of Adamawa has seized the case, an investigation is under way. In the gendarmerie brigade of Dang, the commander confides that the hunting of the man is already opened.

On May 23, 2017, his fellows from the Faculty of Law and Political Science (FSJP) went down to the victim’s city to give moral support to his friends and neighbors. The university authorities seized, also went down to the field to comfort the students. While waiting for the relatives of the victim who reside in Yaounde to join Ngaoundere, comrades and friends are in a state of anxiety and consternation. To wWhen the restoration of order on the campus of Ngaoundere?
