“More than fifteen students and the principal of Lord’s Bilingual Academy of Kumba were kidnapped this Tuesday at mid-day”, reveal to us anonymously a teacher of this college. Our source points out that armed people arrived at the college and left with the students and their supervisor.

Sources at the Southwest Region Governor’s office confirm this kidnapping.

“Some students have been abducted but we do not have the exact number of abductees. We will take stock afterwards. For the moment, the defense and security forces are mobilized to find and release the hostages safe and sound “,

informs our source to the services of the governor of Southwest.

The perpetrators of this major kidnapping have not yet been identified. According to Southwest military sources, it is “probably” an armed group of the secessionist movement.

It must be remembered that this type of mass abduction of students is not new in these two regions in crisis. At least 81 people, including 79 students, were abducted in the night of Sunday 4 to Monday, November 5, 2018 on the campus of the Presbyterian College of Nkwen in the city of Bamenda (North West Region). The 79 students and some supervisors were found on November 7th near Bafut.
