Cameroon – CHAN 2021 : The official match schedule is known

The Confederation of African Football CAF has released Fixtures for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) Jamboree to be staged by Cameroon from January to February 2021

The tournament was initially scheduled to take place in Cameroon from April 4 to April 25, 2020, but was later postponed by the Confederation of African Football CAF on Thursday, 10 September 2020 via video-conference, the CAF Executive Committee confirmed the decision, among others due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was then announced last month that the jamboree had been moved to early next year. Now continental football’s mother body CAF has confirmed that the competition – which is exclusively for players plying their trade in their domestic leagues – will begin mid-January into early February 2021.

Hosts Cameroon gets the tournament underway with a showdown against one of Southern Africa’s hopefuls, Zimbabwe, at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaoundé.

Zimbabwe is in the same group as West African powerhouse Mali, and Burkina Faso.

The Brave Warriors of Namibia are in Group D with fellow Southern Africans Chipolopolo of Zambia and the Taifa Stars of Tanzania. They will be based in Limbe/Buea along with the fourth side in the group, Guinea.

DRC, are in Group B alongside Libya, Niger, and Congo Brazzaville. They will be based in the Japoma stadium in the economic capital city Douala.

Group C consists of Morocco, Togo, Uganda, and Rwanda.

The final will be played in Yaoundé on February 7 at 8 pm.
