Mr. Tamfu Simon Faï and Mrs. Telelen Dorothy Atabong, epse Motaze, are, as from 10 June 2021, Public Independent Conciliator in the Anglophone Regions.
According to Law No. 2019/024 of 24 December 2019 on the General Code of Decentralised Territorial Authorities, an independent authority designated as Public Independent Conciliator (PIC) is instituted for each of the North West and South West Regions.
In the North West Region, Mr Tamfu Simon Faï is a Public Independent Conciliator.
While Mrs. Telelen Dorothy Atabong wife Motaze is the Public Independent Conciliator in the South West Region.
In fact, the Public Independent Conciliator is in charge, among other things, of the amicable settlement of possible disputes between citizens and the local administration (regional or communal), of conducting investigations on the functioning of local public services at the level of the Region or the commune and of drawing up a report on the functioning of the said services, of defending and protecting the rights and freedoms of the users against abuses of which they would be victims on the part of the local authorities
The Public Independent Conciliator is appointed by the President of the Republic upon the joint proposal of the President of the Regional Executive Council and the representative of the State.
This means that we are moving towards the resolution of the Anglophone crisis that Cameroon has been going through for over two years.
The President of the Republic of Cameroon, H.E. Paul Biya, has taken a new step towards the return of peace in the North-West and South-West regions.
