During the night of Wednesday 19th to Thursday 20th January 2022 around 1 o’clock in the morning, 4 armed individuals entered into Alhadji Mamadjo’s house, a tradesman, living in a quarter known as Lopere in the community of Maroua 2. According to our sources, the occupants in the house resisted to the thieves before the neighbours came out in a very huge number. When they felt in danger, they find their way to be in security but one of them is being catched up and well bidden up by the population. The three other crooks escaped.
This morning as from around 7 o’clock, an unidentified body of the casualty was lying down in the quarter, on the eyes of curious people. Municipal authorities and policemen arrived at the site.
« It is not the first time that Alhadji Mamadjo is a victim of robbery by outlaw. A few days ago, a traditional chief was killed in the town of Maroua. We are afraid of that », said dweller of Maroua. An upsurge of insecurity in the town of Maroua that worries the population.
